Curriculum

At St Mary’s CofE Primary School, we aim for all pupils to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

Overview

At St. Mary's we provide an exceptional curriculum.

On this page you can find out more information about the curriculum that is available to all children who attend here; both the academic curriculum and our enrichment opportunities which we believe are vitally important for every child. St. Mary's is a school which prides itself on being highly inclusive, tailoring the curriculum offer to meet the needs of all children from nursery to Year 6.

Please look at our whole website, including the pupil pages, where there is more information about the learning and activities St. Mary's children are involved in. Should you require further information, please contact the school office who will be pleased to support you with your enquiry.

Our curriculum is a knowledge-rich curriculum. What do we mean by this?

- Knowledge is valued and specified

- Knowledge is well sequenced

- Knowledge is taught to be remembered

At St. Mary's we have set out the enrichment opportunities we feel all children should be entitled to. The enrichment opportunities help to support pupils' personal development and support pupils' cultural capital. We also firmly believe that children should have rich life experiences which will aid them in their academic learning in school and allow them to lead fulfilled lives.
